Responsibilities
- Oversee a high-value portfolio of life and health insurance products, ensuring optimal risk-to-reward ratios and long-term profitability.
- Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of senior underwriters to achieve operational excellence and technical mastery.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with actuarial and product development teams to refine pricing models and complex policy wording.
- Drive digital transformation by integrating machine learning and predictive analytics into the core underwriting workflow.
- Ensure rigorous adherence to state and federal insurance regulations, maintaining 100% compliance across all jurisdictions.
- Develop and manage strategic relationships with premier brokerage partners to facilitate high-value business acquisition and retention.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in life or health insurance underwriting within a major carrier environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or a related field; Master's preferred.
- Professional industry designation such as FLMI, CLU, or CPCU is required.
- Proven track record of managing multi-million dollar risk portfolios and leading diverse professional teams.
- Expertise in advanced risk assessment software and data visualization tools like Tableau or PowerBI.
- Exceptional negotiation and decision-making skills with the ability to articulate complex risk profiles to stakeholders.
