Responsibilities
- Analyze and evaluate complex commercial risk submissions across various industry sectors.
- Develop and maintain profitable book of business by applying advanced underwriting guidelines.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with top-tier brokers to ensure high-quality deal flow.
- Collaborate with actuarial and claims departments to monitor loss trends and refine pricing strategies.
- Mentor junior underwriting staff and contribute to team-wide technical training initiatives.
- Utilize predictive modeling tools and data analytics to enhance risk selection and profitability.
- Represent the firm at industry conferences and client meetings as a subject matter expert.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7+ years of commercial lines underwriting experience, specifically within middle-market accounts.
- Advanced professional designation preferred (e.g., CPCU, ARM, or AU).
- Proven track record of managing a profitable book of business with consistent loss ratios.
- Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Expert proficiency in insurance rating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
