Responsibilities
- Analyze and underwrite complex commercial and personal insurance risks.
- Utilize actuarial data and market trends to determine appropriate policy terms and pricing.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with insurance brokers and agents.
- Conduct regular portfolio reviews to identify trends and mitigate exposure.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations.
- Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to team training programs.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in commercial or property & casualty underwriting.
- Relevant certifications (CPCU, AICPCU, or EIW) are highly preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency in underwriting software such as Guidewire or Duck Creek.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a cross-functional team.
