Responsibilities
- Analyze and evaluate insurance applications to determine risk exposure and appropriate coverage limits.
- Utilize advanced actuarial data and market trends to make informed underwriting decisions.
- Maintain strong relationships with insurance brokers and agents to ensure a seamless client experience.
- Develop and implement underwriting guidelines that align with company profitability goals and regulatory standards.
- Conduct periodic reviews of existing policies to identify potential risks and recommend adjustments.
- Stay abreast of changes in state and federal insurance regulations to ensure full compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in commercial or personal lines underwriting.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding underwriting targets and revenue goals.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and financial reports.
- Certifications such as CPCU, ARM, or AIWB are highly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively with stakeholders.
