In this role, you will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of our transportation operations, ensuring on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and compliance with all safety regulations. You will lead a diverse team of logistics professionals and work closely with vendor partners to streamline our freight processes.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Operations Leadership: Oversee daily transportation operations, including dispatch, fleet management, and carrier relations to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Cost Optimization: Analyze logistics data and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate favorable contracts with third-party carriers.
- Fleet & Asset Management: Manage the maintenance schedules and utilization of company-owned assets, ensuring high availability and safety standards.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to DOT regulations, FMCSA standards, and internal safety protocols to minimize risk and accidents.
- Team Leadership: Mentor, train, and develop a high-performing team of transportation coordinators and dispatchers.
- Process Improvement: Implement advanced logistics technologies and methodologies to improve route planning and reduce transit times.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in transportation management, logistics, or supply chain operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in transportation management software (TMS), ERP systems, and advanced data analysis tools.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations, hazmat transportation, and freight auditing processes.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex logistics issues and devise effective solutions.
