Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end transportation operations including fleet management, route optimization, and carrier relationships
- Develop and implement sustainable logistics strategies to reduce carbon footprint while maintaining cost efficiency
- Lead cross-functional teams in executing multimodal transportation solutions (rail, truck, intermodal)
- Analyze performance metrics using advanced logistics platforms to identify improvement opportunities
- Manage compliance with FMCSA regulations and industry safety standards
- Drive innovation in last-mile delivery solutions for urban markets
- Collaborate with procurement on vendor management and contract negotiations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field (MBA preferred)
- 8+ years progressive experience in transportation management with 3+ years in leadership roles
- Proven expertise in TMS implementation and logistics analytics tools
- Strong knowledge of Illinois transportation regulations and Midwest logistics networks
- Certification in CSCP or CTL preferred
- Experience managing multimodal transportation budgets exceeding $5M
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with data-driven decision-making ability
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics software (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
