Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end supply chain operations including freight procurement, route optimization, and carrier management
- Develop and implement strategic logistics plans reducing transportation costs by 15-20% annually
- Lead cross-functional teams in executing multimodal transportation solutions (rail, truck, air)
- Analyze KPIs and leverage data analytics to enhance network efficiency and delivery performance
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts with transportation partners
- Ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations and industry safety standards
- Drive sustainability initiatives to reduce carbon footprint in transportation operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field (MBA preferred)
- 8+ years progressive experience in transportation logistics with 3+ years in management
- Expertise in TMS platforms (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Manhattan Associates) and route optimization software
- Proven track record of reducing logistics costs while improving service levels
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex data sets and make strategic decisions
- CDL certification or equivalent transportation industry credentials
- Experience with international shipping regulations and customs procedures
