Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end transportation operations including LTL/FTL shipments, intermodal rail, and last-mile delivery
- Develop and execute strategic carrier partnerships with 3PLs and freight brokers
- Analyze KPIs to reduce transportation spend while improving on-time delivery rates
- Ensure compliance with FMCSA, DOT, and international trade regulations
- Lead cross-functional teams in implementing TMS upgrades and automation initiatives
- Manage $25M+ transportation budget with quarterly cost-reduction targets
- Conduct route optimization studies using AI-powered logistics software
- Represent logistics in executive strategic planning sessions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business (MBA preferred)
- 10+ years progressive experience in transportation/logistics with 5+ in leadership
- Expertise in TMS platforms (e.g., Oracle, Manhattan, Blue Yonder)
- Proven track record of reducing freight costs by 10-20%
- Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision-making abilities
- FMCSA compliance certification (CPL preferred)
- Experience managing multi-state distribution networks
- Proficient in Excel, Power BI, and logistics optimization software
