Responsibilities
- Design and implement efficient multi-modal transportation networks integrating rail, road, and emerging EV fleets
- Optimize route planning and fleet deployment using AI-powered logistics platforms
- Manage vendor relationships with 3PLs and transportation carriers across the Midwest
- Analyze supply chain KPIs to reduce costs while improving delivery reliability to 99.5%
- Ensure compliance with FMCSA, EPA, and Illinois transportation regulations
- Lead cross-functional teams in implementing IoT tracking and predictive maintenance systems
- Develop contingency plans for weather disruptions and port delays
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Transportation Engineering
- 8+ years in transportation/logistics with 3+ years in leadership roles
- Expertise in TMS platforms (Manhattan, Blue Yonder, or Oracle) and route optimization algorithms
- Proven track record reducing transportation costs by 15%+ while maintaining service levels
- Certified Transportation Professional (CTP) or CPIM designation preferred
- Advanced data analysis skills with SQL and visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI)
- Strong understanding of intermodal transportation and Chicago's freight corridor dynamics
