Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end daily logistics operations, including freight scheduling, dispatching, and tracking.
- Utilize TMS software to optimize shipping routes, reduce transit times, and minimize fuel consumption.
- Act as the primary point of contact for key third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and carriers.
- Analyze operational data to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
- Ensure strict adherence to local, state, and federal transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers to secure the best service levels and pricing.
- Collaborate with the planning team to forecast demand and adjust inventory flow accordingly.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Transportation, or Business Administration.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain coordination.
- Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (e.g., Oracle Transportation Management, Manhattan, or similar).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and generate actionable insights.
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a plus but not mandatory.
- Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build strong vendor relationships.
- Working knowledge of Incoterms (FOB, CIF, etc.) and international shipping regulations.
