Responsibilities
- Tax Compliance & Reporting: Manage the end-to-end UK corporate tax compliance process, ensuring timely and accurate filing with HMRC.
- Strategic Advisory: Provide expert tax planning advice to clients to optimize their tax positions within legal frameworks.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and supervise a team of 3-5 tax assistants and junior accountants, conducting regular performance reviews and training sessions.
- Due Diligence: Lead tax due diligence projects for mergers and acquisitions, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
- Client Management: Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, building strong relationships and understanding their evolving business needs.
- Regulatory Updates: Stay abreast of changes in UK and international tax legislation, advising the firm and clients accordingly.
Qualifications
- Education: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification (Qualified by Experience is also considered).
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in corporate tax within a top-tier accounting firm or in-house finance department.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of UK tax law, Corporation Tax, VAT, and international tax principles (Transfer Pricing).
- Leadership Skills: Proven track record of managing and motivating a team successfully.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-specialists.
- Tools: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, Excel) and tax research platforms.
