Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the preparation and review of complex federal, state, and international tax returns.
- Provide proactive tax planning and advisory services, identifying opportunities for savings and compliance improvement.
- Manage and mentor a high-performing team of tax associates and seniors.
- Direct the research and documentation of complex tax positions and tax accounting (ASC 740) requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing expectations and delivering actionable insights.
- Represent the firm during federal and state tax audits, acting as a liaison with regulatory authorities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to integrate tax strategy into broader financial planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master’s in Taxation (MST) preferred.
- Current CPA license is required.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in corporate tax within a public accounting firm or large corporate tax department.
- Expert-level proficiency in federal and multi-state tax compliance and research software.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a proven track record of managing and developing professional teams.
- Strong analytical, communication, and project management abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
