Role Overview:
In this senior-level position, you will act as a trusted advisor to our clients, handling complex tax matters with precision and integrity. You will lead a team of junior consultants and collaborate closely with our finance and legal teams to deliver seamless service.
Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and submission of complex UK corporate and personal tax returns, ensuring 100% accuracy and timely compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Advise high-net-worth clients on comprehensive tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities and optimize financial growth.
- Conduct detailed tax research and analysis on new legislation, ensuring the firm remains at the forefront of regulatory changes.
- Liaise with external auditors, HMRC officials, and other regulatory bodies during audits and inquiries.
- Mentor and supervise junior staff, providing training on tax compliance, software usage, and best practices.
- Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, acting as their primary point of contact for all tax-related inquiries.
- Prepare detailed tax memos and reports for internal review and client presentation.
Qualifications
- Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) is essential.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in UK tax, preferably within a top-tier accounting firm or corporate tax department.
- Deep understanding of UK tax legislation, including Corporation Tax, Income Tax, and Capital Gains Tax.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to non-technical clients and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in advanced tax software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or bespoke tax platforms) and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple high-profile deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
