Responsibilities
- Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local income tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timely filing.
- Conduct in-depth tax research and analysis to interpret complex regulatory changes and their impact on the organization.
- Oversee the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions, including ASC 740 compliance.
- Collaborate with external auditors and internal stakeholders to resolve tax-related inquiries and discrepancies.
- Identify and implement tax-saving opportunities and strategies to minimize tax liability legally.
- Maintain accurate tax records and documentation in compliance with internal control policies.
- Lead and mentor junior tax staff, providing guidance on technical tax issues and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification is highly required; CMA is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in corporate tax preparation and planning.
- In-depth knowledge of US Federal and State tax codes, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in tax software (e.g., Vertex, Lacerte, Drake) and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex tax concepts clearly.
