Responsibilities
- Prepare and file complex UK corporation tax, VAT, and payroll tax returns with HMRC.
- Conduct thorough tax planning and advisory services to minimize liabilities and ensure compliance.
- Liaise directly with HMRC and external auditors during investigations or audits.
- Oversee and mentor junior team members, conducting performance reviews and training.
- Perform regular tax health checks and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
- Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and implement necessary process improvements.
Qualifications
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CIPD qualified (or equivalent professional qualification).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior tax role within the UK financial sector.
- Deep knowledge of UK tax law, HMRC guidelines, and IFRS/GAAP standards.
- Proficiency in advanced Excel and specialist tax software (e.g., Vertex, Cegid).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to clients.
- High level of attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
