Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit CT600 and other corporate tax returns for a portfolio of clients, ensuring strict adherence to HMRC deadlines.
- Conduct comprehensive tax planning and strategy sessions to minimize tax liabilities and optimize cash flow.
- Lead and mentor junior team members, providing technical guidance and performance reviews.
- Advise clients on complex tax legislation, including Transfer Pricing, Capital Gains, and Corporation Tax.
- Manage the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors and regulators.
- Oversee VAT compliance, including the preparation of quarterly returns and handling of VAT inspections.
Qualifications
- Fully qualified accountant with a recognized body (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience, specifically within a UK tax practice or corporate finance department.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK tax law, including recent changes to Corporation Tax and Employment Tax.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-specialist clients.
- Proficiency in advanced Excel and tax preparation software (e.g., TaxCalc, CCH).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines during busy filing seasons.
