Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring 100% compliance and accuracy.
- Conduct comprehensive tax research to interpret complex tax codes and advise management on financial implications.
- Develop and implement strategic tax planning initiatives to minimize tax liability while adhering to legal requirements.
- Lead the annual audit process, coordinating with external auditors and providing necessary documentation.
- Manage the monthly and quarterly tax provision process and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Mentor junior staff members, providing guidance on technical tax issues and software utilization.
- Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry trends to ensure the organization remains proactive.
Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in corporate tax, preferably within a Big 4 firm or a multinational corporation.
- Deep understanding of US GAAP and international tax principles.
- Proficient in tax preparation software (e.g., CCH Axcess, Drake, UltraTax) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings clearly.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects under tight deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
