Responsibilities
- Assess and manage high-risk child protection cases with cultural sensitivity
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for vulnerable families
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including schools, healthcare providers, and law enforcement
- Provide crisis intervention and trauma-informed counseling services
- Conduct home visits and court-mandated assessments
- Maintain accurate case documentation and compliance with provincial regulations
- Mentor junior social staff and lead community outreach initiatives
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution
- Minimum 3 years of direct child protection experience
- Current registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
- Certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
- Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation skills
- Proficiency in case management software (e.g., Maximizer, CiviCRM)
- Valid Ontario driver's license with reliable vehicle
- Bilingual English/French proficiency considered an asset
