Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop safety plans for at-risk children and families
- Provide crisis intervention and trauma-informed counseling to survivors of abuse/neglect
- Collaborate with legal, healthcare, and educational systems to coordinate multi-agency responses
- Train and mentor junior social workers in evidence-based intervention techniques
- Advocate for policy improvements through community engagement and legislative outreach
- Maintain detailed case documentation compliant with state and federal regulations
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from accredited institution
- LCSW licensure in Illinois with 5+ years child protection experience
- Certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
- Expertise in cultural competency and crisis de-escalation techniques
- Proven success in navigating complex family systems and legal proceedings
- Advanced knowledge of Illinois DCFS protocols and child welfare laws
- Strong data analysis skills for outcome reporting and program evaluation
