Job Description

Are you a seasoned researcher looking to translate innovative science into real-world healthcare impact? The Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) is seeking a high-caliber Senior Scientist to join the DxD Hub. This role is pivotal in driving the development of next-generation ImmunoDx technologies.

As a Senior Scientist, you will lead high-performing, cross-functional teams tasked with the full lifecycle of regulated diagnostic product development. You will bridge the gap between bench-top research and clinical application, ensuring that our diagnostic tools meet stringent regulatory standards while maintaining scientific excellence. This is an exceptional opportunity to work at the intersection of deep scientific discovery and commercial product development in one of the world's most vibrant biotech ecosystems.

If you possess a passion for diagnostics and the leadership skills to navigate complex R&D landscapes, we invite you to help us shape the future of healthcare in Singapore and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams in the design, development, and validation of novel immuno-diagnostic assays.
  • Manage the end-to-end product development lifecycle, ensuring alignment with global regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 13485, IVDR).
  • Formulate and execute strategic research plans to enhance diagnostic sensitivity, specificity, and throughput.
  • Collaborate with clinical partners, academic institutions, and commercial stakeholders to translate research concepts into scalable products.
  • Oversee experimental design, data integrity, and documentation to support regulatory submissions.
  • Drive continuous improvement processes in assay development workflows and laboratory practices.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends in immunology and diagnostic technology to inform future R&D roadmaps.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related life science discipline.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in diagnostic product development or R&D.
  • Proven track record in successful immuno-assay development (e.g., ELISA, Lateral Flow, Luminescence, or Multiplex platforms).
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory standards for diagnostic devices and clinical laboratory compliance.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex scientific data into technical and non-technical reporting.
  • Experience in commercializing diagnostic technologies or managing translational research projects is highly preferred.
