Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional R&D initiatives in synthetic biology and nanomaterials
- Design and execute complex experimental protocols using CRISPR and advanced microscopy
- Collaborate with engineering teams to translate research into scalable prototypes
- Secure and manage research grants from NIH and NSF
- Develop IP strategies and contribute to patent applications
- Mentor junior researchers and foster innovation culture
- Present findings at international conferences and peer-reviewed journals
Qualifications
- PhD in Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, or related field
- 5+ years of hands-on lab experience in gene editing or nanomaterials
- Proven track record of publishing high-impact research
- Expertise in statistical analysis (R/Python) and bioinformatics
- Experience with ISO-compliant lab protocols and GMP standards
- Strong project management with $500K+ budget handling
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder presentations
- Adaptability to fast-paced biotech startup environment
