Join Apex Energy Solutions, a leader in upstream oil and gas innovation, as a Senior Reservoir Engineer. Based in the heart of Houston's Energy Corridor, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing asset performance, maximizing recovery factors, and spearheading advanced field development planning.
You will work with cross-functional teams to integrate complex geological, petrophysical, and production data to drive strategic decision-making in high-stakes environments.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive reservoir simulation models to predict field performance and optimize recovery strategies.
- Lead field development planning (FDP) initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate production and financial targets.
- Analyze well performance data, including pressure transient analysis (PTA) and nodal analysis, to identify optimization opportunities.
- Collaborate with drilling and completion engineers to design efficient well placement and stimulation programs.
- Manage reserves estimation and reporting in strict accordance with SEC/SPE guidelines.
- Mentor junior engineering staff and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Present complex technical findings and economic evaluations to senior executive stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience in upstream reservoir engineering within an O&G operating company.
- Proven expertise in industry-standard software such as Petrel, Eclipse, Intersect, or Kappa.
- Strong command of material balance, decline curve analysis, and waterflood management.
- In-depth knowledge of unconventional reservoir characteristics and multi-stage hydraulic fracturing.
- Exceptional analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred.
