Are you ready to drive innovation in reservoir management? Apex Energy Solutions is seeking a seasoned Senior Reservoir Engineer to join our elite upstream development team in Houston. In this high-impact role, you will leverage advanced simulation modeling and data analytics to optimize field development strategies and maximize asset value. You will collaborate with cross-functional geological and drilling teams to solve complex subsurface challenges in some of the most dynamic basins in the country.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain robust reservoir simulation models to forecast production performance.
- Conduct comprehensive well performance analysis and nodal analysis to optimize recovery factors.
- Provide technical leadership in field development planning and reserves estimation (SEC/PRMS).
- Lead integrated studies with petrophysics and geology teams to characterize heterogeneous reservoirs.
- Prepare and present technical evaluations and capital expenditure recommendations to senior executive leadership.
- Mentor junior engineers on best practices for pressure transient analysis and fluid property modeling.
- Monitor and analyze real-time data to troubleshoot production deviations and enhance well productivity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum of 8-12 years of industry experience in reservoir engineering, preferably within North American shale plays.
- Advanced proficiency in industry-standard software such as Petrel RE, Eclipse, tNavigator, or OFM.
- Strong understanding of material balance, decline curve analysis, and waterflood management.
- Proven track record of success in reserves reporting and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical data to non-technical stakeholders.
- Professional Engineering (PE) licensure is highly preferred.
