Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end research projects for new material formulations and applications.
- Design and execute complex experiments to validate material performance under extreme conditions.
- Analyze multi-dimensional data sets to iterate on product designs and optimize performance metrics.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and product strategy teams.
- Author technical reports, white papers, and patent applications to protect intellectual property.
- Mentor junior researchers and foster a culture of scientific excellence and safety.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of professional R&D experience, preferably in high-tech or industrial sectors.
- Demonstrated expertise in polymer science or advanced structural ceramics.
- Proficiency in experimental design (DOE) and statistical analysis software (JMP, Minitab, or Python).
- Proven track record of taking a product from bench-scale research to pilot production.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
