Responsibilities
- Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies to secure high-quality materials at competitive prices.
- Vendor Management: Lead the negotiation and management of key vendor contracts, fostering long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships.
- Cost Optimization: Analyze market trends to implement cost-saving initiatives and improve the overall profit margin.
- Inventory Control: Collaborate with logistics teams to optimize inventory levels and reduce stockouts or overstock scenarios.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in purchasing workflows using Six Sigma or Lean methodologies.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and supervise a team of purchasing specialists, providing coaching and performance feedback.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in purchasing or supply chain management.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Analysis: Strong ability to analyze complex data and generate actionable insights for decision-making.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Certifications: CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) or CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) is a plus.
