The Role
As the Senior Purchasing Manager, you will lead a team of procurement specialists, managing the end-to-end purchasing lifecycle for our diverse product lines. Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive purchasing strategies aligned with company objectives and budget constraints.
- Negotiate favorable terms and pricing with existing and new suppliers to reduce costs without compromising quality.
- Manage the entire vendor lifecycle, including onboarding, performance reviews, and risk assessment.
- Analyze market trends and inventory data to forecast demand and prevent stock shortages or overstocking.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to streamline procurement processes and improve supply chain resilience.
- Ensure all purchasing activities comply with UK regulations and internal corporate policies.
- Train and mentor junior purchasing staff to enhance team capabilities.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
- Proven track record of successfully negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and market trends.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Knowledge of UK VAT laws and import/export regulations is highly desirable.
