Apex Global Manufacturing is seeking a highly analytical and relationship-driven Senior Purchasing Manager to join our Chicago headquarters. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, optimizing our supply chain, and managing high-stakes vendor relationships to ensure operational excellence.
You will be instrumental in identifying cost-saving opportunities, mitigating supply risks, and implementing sustainable procurement practices that align with our long-term growth objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive global procurement strategies to ensure cost-efficiency and quality.
- Lead complex contract negotiations with Tier 1 suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
- Monitor and analyze market trends to proactively identify potential supply chain disruptions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Finance, and Production teams to streamline material flow.
- Manage and mentor a high-performing team of procurement specialists and buyers.
- Optimize inventory turnover rates through advanced demand forecasting and supplier performance management.
- Ensure strict compliance with industry regulations and company procurement policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in strategic purchasing or procurement management.
- Proven track record of achieving significant cost reductions and process improvements.
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and data analytics tools.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build long-term, strategic partnerships.
- CPSM or APICS certification is highly preferred.
- Exceptional leadership abilities with a collaborative, results-oriented mindset.
