Responsibilities
- Develop and execute digital transformation strategies aligned with federal government priorities
- Lead cross-agency technology initiatives to modernize public service delivery
- Ensure compliance with government security protocols (e.g., ITSG-33, PSPF)
- Manage vendor relationships and technology procurement for public sector projects
- Advise senior leadership on emerging technologies and their public sector applications
- Oversee implementation of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA)
- Conduct risk assessments for public-facing digital platforms
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years in public sector technology leadership or equivalent
- Proven experience with Canadian government IT infrastructure and compliance frameworks
- Expertise in cloud migration strategies for public institutions
- Master's degree in Public Administration, Computer Science, or related field
- Security clearance eligibility (Reliability Status)
- PMP or ITIL certification preferred
- Deep understanding of digital service delivery models (e.g., GDS, Service Canada)
- Experience managing budgets exceeding $5M for technology projects
