Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive cybersecurity strategies for government cloud and on-premise systems
- Lead incident response coordination and threat intelligence analysis for federal networks
- Develop and maintain compliance frameworks for ISO 27001, NIST, and Canadian government security standards
- Conduct security assessments and penetration testing of critical infrastructure systems
- Mentor junior security professionals and create departmental security training programs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security into all IT projects
- Stay current on emerging threats and recommend proactive mitigation measures
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of progressive IT security experience with 4+ years in government/public sector
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent certification
- Expert knowledge of NIST Cybersecurity Framework, FedRAMP, and Canadian government security protocols
- Proven experience designing security architectures for cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Strong background in incident response planning and threat intelligence analysis
- Valid Canadian government security clearance (or ability to obtain

- Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or related field preferred
