Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural design and technical execution of large-scale commercial and mixed-use projects from concept design through to project closeout.
- Coordinate seamlessly with structural, MEP, and civil engineering consultants to ensure fully integrated building systems.
- Supervise the production of comprehensive construction documents, specifications, and highly detailed construction drawings.
- Navigate and resolve complex zoning laws, building codes, and municipal approval processes for urban developments.
- Mentor, guide, and inspire junior and intermediate architectural designers, fostering a culture of professional growth and design excellence.
- Manage key client relationships, presenting design concepts, progress milestones, and budget alignment strategies.
Qualifications
- Professional Degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) from an NAAB-accredited institution.
- Active Registered Architect (RA) license in the State of Illinois, or eligibility for reciprocal licensure. NCARB certification is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 8 years of progressive post-graduate experience in a professional architectural firm, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Advanced, expert-level proficiency in Autodesk Revit and BIM workflows, along with AutoCAD and SketchUp.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Chicago building codes, IBC, ADA regulations, and sustainable design standards (LEED AP credential is a strong plus).
- Exceptional verbal, written, and graphic communication skills, with the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams.
