Apex Precision Manufacturing is seeking a dynamic Senior Production Supervisor to join our state-of-the-art facility in Detroit. You will lead high-performing teams, optimize production workflows, and ensure our commitment to precision engineering remains world-class.
In this pivotal role, you will be the bridge between strategic production goals and daily floor execution, fostering a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and high output.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of 40+ production operators and technicians.
- Monitor daily production output to ensure targets are met within strict quality and safety guidelines.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste and increase throughput.
- Manage labor schedules, resource allocation, and shift handovers to ensure 24/7 operational efficiency.
- Conduct root-cause analysis on production bottlenecks and implement long-term corrective actions.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance department to schedule preventative machine servicing with minimal downtime.
- Enforce compliance with OSHA regulations and internal environmental health and safety (EHS) policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or related field.
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Proven expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S methodologies.
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP or Oracle) and production scheduling software.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of building high-retention teams.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical decision-making skills.
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification is highly preferred.
