Responsibilities
- Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies to optimize supply chain performance and mitigate risk.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with key suppliers, conducting performance reviews and negotiating terms to ensure alignment with business goals.
- Cost Analysis: Conduct detailed market research and cost modeling to identify savings opportunities and competitive pricing structures.
- Contract Negotiation: Lead high-stakes contract negotiations, ensuring legal compliance and favorable terms for the organization.
- Inventory Control: Collaborate with operations teams to forecast demand and manage inventory levels effectively to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
- Process Improvement: Implement and refine procurement policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and transparency.
- Reporting: Prepare regular procurement reports and presentations for executive stakeholders to visualize spending trends and savings achievements.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field; CIPS Level 4 or higher is highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing, with a proven track record of successful contract negotiations.
- Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Analysis: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and market trends.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to solve complex supply chain issues under tight deadlines.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of UK and EU procurement regulations and compliance standards.
