The Role:
You will be responsible for managing the entire procurement lifecycle, from identifying suppliers and negotiating contracts to overseeing delivery and quality assurance. Your expertise will directly impact our bottom line and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals and budget constraints.
- Manage the end-to-end sourcing process, including market research, RFQ/RFP management, and vendor selection.
- Analyze market trends, price fluctuations, and competitor activities to secure optimal purchasing terms.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuity, quality, and innovation.
- Oversee inventory levels and lead optimization initiatives to prevent stockouts and reduce excess holding costs.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, and engineering teams to forecast demand accurately.
- Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and manage contract renewals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management.
- Proven track record of negotiating favorable contracts and achieving significant cost savings targets.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on stakeholder management and conflict resolution.
- Knowledge of Canadian trade regulations and import/export compliance is a plus.
