Responsibilities
- Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with business goals to maximize value and minimize costs.
- Negotiation: Lead high-stakes negotiations with global vendors to secure favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, conducting regular performance reviews to ensure quality and reliability.
- Supply Chain Analysis: Analyze market trends and supply chain data to identify risks and opportunities for process improvement.
- Budget Control: Monitor expenditure against budgets, ensuring cost-saving targets are met while maintaining operational continuity.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and develop a team of junior buyers and procurement coordinators to foster a culture of excellence.
Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- CIPS Qualification: Fully accredited member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) is highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in procurement, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management capacity.
- Negotiation Skills: Proven track record of successful contract negotiation and vendor relationship management.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret complex data, market reports, and financial metrics.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement software.
