Responsibilities
- Lead the design, simulation, and optimization of complex oil & gas process units, ensuring efficiency and safety.
- Conduct process hazard analyses (PHA), HAZOP studies, and LOPA reviews to identify and mitigate risks.
- Develop and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and other engineering documents.
- Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
- Evaluate new technologies and process improvements to enhance operational performance and reduce environmental footprint.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including operations, project management, and environmental health & safety.
- Perform hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing, and specification for various process components.
- Ensure all engineering designs and modifications comply with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in process engineering within the oil & gas (upstream, midstream, or downstream) industry.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one within 12 months.
- Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II) and hydraulic analysis tools.
- Demonstrated experience with HAZOP, LOPA, SIL assessment methodologies.
- Strong understanding of relevant industry standards (e.g., API, ASME, NACE) and environmental regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
