Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptual, FEED, and detailed design phases of process systems for oil & gas facilities, including refineries, petrochemical plants, and offshore platforms.
- Perform complex process simulations, hydraulic calculations, and equipment sizing using industry-standard software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II, Flarenet).
- Develop and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications.
- Conduct and participate in HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, and other safety and risk assessment studies.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance during commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting of new and existing facilities.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, feasibility studies, and economic evaluations for process optimization projects.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, project managers, clients, and vendors to ensure project success.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited university. Master's degree or P.Eng. (Professional Engineer) license preferred.
- 7-10+ years of progressive experience in process engineering within the Oil & Gas industry (upstream, midstream, or downstream).
- Demonstrated proficiency with process simulation software, particularly Aspen HYSYS and PRO/II.
- Strong understanding of industry codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME, NFPA, ANSI).
- Proven track record in designing and optimizing complex process units and systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Superior communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality results under demanding deadlines.
