Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute process design activities for various oil and gas projects, including PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and control philosophies.
  • Perform process simulations, hydraulic calculations, and safety analyses (HAZOP, LOPA) to ensure design integrity and operational safety.
  • Optimize existing process units for improved efficiency, debottlenecking, cost reduction, and environmental performance.
  • Develop and review technical documentation, including datasheets, reports, and operating manuals, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting for operational issues, commissioning, and start-up activities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, project management, and clients to achieve project objectives.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their professional development and ensuring adherence to engineering best practices.
  • Stay abreast of new technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes in the oil and gas sector.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in process engineering within the oil and gas industry (upstream, midstream, or downstream).
  • Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II, AVEVA PRO/II Simulation).
  • Strong understanding of relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME, NACE, ISA).
  • Demonstrated experience in leading HAZOP, SIL, and other safety review sessions.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation abilities.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or actively pursuing licensure is highly desirable.
