Responsibilities
- Lead and execute process design activities for various oil and gas projects, including PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and control philosophies.
- Perform process simulations, hydraulic calculations, and safety analyses (HAZOP, LOPA) to ensure design integrity and operational safety.
- Optimize existing process units for improved efficiency, debottlenecking, cost reduction, and environmental performance.
- Develop and review technical documentation, including datasheets, reports, and operating manuals, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting for operational issues, commissioning, and start-up activities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, project management, and clients to achieve project objectives.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their professional development and ensuring adherence to engineering best practices.
- Stay abreast of new technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes in the oil and gas sector.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in process engineering within the oil and gas industry (upstream, midstream, or downstream).
- Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II, AVEVA PRO/II Simulation).
- Strong understanding of relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME, NACE, ISA).
- Demonstrated experience in leading HAZOP, SIL, and other safety review sessions.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation abilities.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or actively pursuing licensure is highly desirable.
