Responsibilities

  • Lead the modeling and simulation of complex power distribution and transmission systems using ETAP and SKM.
  • Drive the technical design and integration of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and PV solar plants.
  • Conduct comprehensive load flow, short-circuit, and protective relay coordination studies to ensure grid reliability.
  • Oversee the end-to-end project lifecycle, from initial feasibility studies to final commissioning and site acceptance testing.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison for Tier-1 utility clients and regulatory bodies to ensure NERC/FERC compliance.
  • Mentor and develop a world-class team of junior electrical engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in electrical system design and analysis.
  • Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the state of Texas (or ability to obtain via comity).
  • Expert-level proficiency in power system analysis software (ETAP, SKM, PSS/E, or DIGSILENT).
  • Deep knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), IEEE standards, and NFPA 70E requirements.
  • Proven experience managing capital-intensive engineering projects exceeding $10M in scope.
  • Exceptional analytical thinking and the ability to solve non-linear engineering challenges.
