Responsibilities
- Design and optimize high-voltage power distribution systems using ETAP and PSS/E software
- Lead feasibility studies for renewable energy integration into existing grids
- Develop protective relay coordination schemes for substation automation
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct technical reviews of design documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on grid modernization projects
- Ensure compliance with IEEE, NERC, and local utility regulations
- Present technical findings to executive stakeholders and regulatory bodies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in power systems design or utility engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Expertise in power system analysis and transient stability modeling
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, and power system simulation tools
- Experience with SCADA systems and smart grid technologies
- Demonstrated project management skills for multi-million dollar initiatives
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 70E and OSHA electrical safety standards
