Responsibilities
- Develop and analyze complex policy frameworks to address emerging economic and innovation challenges
- Conduct rigorous research and data analysis to inform evidence-based policy recommendations
- Collaborate with federal departments, industry stakeholders, and international partners on policy initiatives
- Prepare high-impact briefing notes, cabinet submissions, and public policy documents
- Monitor and evaluate policy implementation effectiveness through quantitative and qualitative assessment
- Lead cross-functional working groups to achieve consensus on policy solutions
- Represent the department in high-level stakeholder engagements and public consultations
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, Political Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years progressive experience in policy analysis or public sector roles
- Expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
- Deep understanding of Canadian government policy development processes
- Exceptional written communication skills with demonstrated policy document drafting experience
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with competing priorities
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (SPSS, R, or similar)
- Knowledge of innovation economics and public administration frameworks
