Responsibilities
- Analyze complex urban challenges using quantitative/qualitative research methodologies
- Develop evidence-based policy recommendations aligned with federal mandates
- Lead stakeholder consultations with municipal governments, NGOs, and industry partners
- Prepare comprehensive briefing notes and cabinet-ready policy documents
- Monitor implementation outcomes and recommend adaptive policy adjustments
- Represent the department in intergovernmental forums and expert panels
- Mentor junior analysts on policy development best practices
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive policy analysis experience in public sector
- Expertise in quantitative analysis and data visualization tools (e.g., SPSS, R)
- Proven track record of developing successful urban policy frameworks
- Deep understanding of Canadian municipal governance structures
- Exceptional written/verbal communication with diverse stakeholders
- Security clearance eligibility (Reliability Status)
- Experience with impact assessment frameworks (e.g., Cabinet Directive on Streamlining)
