Responsibilities
- Develop and refine national innovation policies through rigorous research, stakeholder consultations, and data analysis
- Lead cross-functional teams in implementing federal programs with $50M+ budgets
- Represent Canada at international forums (OECD, G7) on technology and economic policy
- Conduct policy impact assessments using econometric modeling and scenario analysis
- Collaborate with parliamentary committees to draft legislative amendments and briefing notes
- Manage stakeholder relationships with industry associations, academia, and Indigenous communities
- Oversee policy performance metrics and quarterly reporting to Cabinet
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, or related field (PhD preferred)
- Minimum 7 years experience in federal/provincial policy development
- Expertise in innovation ecosystems, digital transformation, or industrial policy
- Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder engagement processes
- Advanced proficiency in policy analysis frameworks (SWOT, PESTEL, Cost-Benefit)
- Security clearance at the Secret level (or eligibility to obtain)
- Demonstrated experience with parliamentary procedures and Cabinet submission processes
- Exceptional written communication skills with published policy papers
