Responsibilities
- Develop and analyze municipal policies across transportation, housing, and environmental sectors
- Lead stakeholder engagement with community groups, industry partners, and government agencies
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to inform evidence-based policy recommendations
- Prepare Cabinet submissions, briefing notes, and public communication materials
- Monitor legislative changes and assess potential impacts on municipal operations
- Collaborate with legal teams to ensure policy compliance with provincial/federal regulations
- Mentor junior policy analysts and coordinate interdepartmental project teams
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of progressive policy analysis experience in public sector
- Expertise in quantitative research methods and data analysis tools (SPSS, R)
- Proven track record of developing successful municipal/regional policies
- Deep understanding of Canadian governance frameworks and intergovernmental relations
- Exceptional written communication skills with portfolio of policy documents
- Project management certification (PMP or equivalent) preferred
- Valid Ontario driver's license for occasional travel to community sites
