Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive urban policy frameworks aligned with national sustainability goals and Smart City initiatives
- Lead stakeholder engagement sessions with municipal governments, Indigenous communities, and private sector partners
- Analyze complex urban data to identify emerging trends and policy gaps
- Prepare high-impact briefings for senior decision-makers including Cabinet Ministers
- Oversee implementation of federal urban development programs across provinces
- Coordinate interdepartmental working groups on climate-resilient infrastructure
- Conduct policy impact assessments using quantitative and qualitative methodologies
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related social science field
- Minimum 5 years of progressive policy development experience in public sector
- Expertise in Canadian municipal governance structures and intergovernmental relations
- Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable policy recommendations
- Experience with quantitative policy analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, R, or similar)
- Valid Secret security clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Demonstrated success in cross-functional project leadership
