Responsibilities
- Lead Reservoir Simulation: Design and execute complex reservoir simulation models using industry-standard software (Petrel, Eclipse, or CMG) to predict fluid flow and optimize production strategies.
- Data Analysis & Modeling: Analyze geological and petrophysical data to define reservoir boundaries, identify sweet spots, and estimate ultimate recovery (EUR).
- Project Management: Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of reservoir projects, from conceptual design to field development plans, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with geoscientists, drilling engineers, and production teams to integrate reservoir data with operational execution plans.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all engineering activities comply with local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations.
- Strategic Forecasting: Develop production forecasts and economic models to support investment decisions and capital allocation.
- Talent Development: Mentor junior engineers and conduct technical reviews to foster a culture of continuous improvement and safety.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive experience in upstream oil & gas operations, with a focus on reservoir engineering.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in reservoir simulation software (e.g., Schlumberger Petrel, Eclipse) and data analysis tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB).
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is highly desirable.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex field issues and develop innovative engineering solutions.
- Adaptability: Willingness to travel to field sites and operate in high-pressure, remote environments when required.
