Responsibilities
- Design and optimize drilling programs, including directional drilling and hydraulic fracturing strategies.
- Monitor drilling operations in real-time to ensure compliance with safety protocols (HSE) and project timelines.
- Analyze geological data and reservoir models to predict well performance and maximize hydrocarbon recovery.
- Lead cross-functional teams including geoscientists, field engineers, and service providers.
- Conduct technical feasibility studies and prepare detailed engineering reports for senior management.
- Manage budgetary constraints and cost optimization for drilling projects.
- Ensure all engineering documentation meets regulatory and industry standards (API, NORSOK).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in upstream oil and gas operations, with a focus on drilling or reservoir engineering.
- Active Professional Engineering (P.E.) license in Texas or equivalent state licensure.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Petrel, Landmark, or CMG.
- Strong understanding of drilling mechanics, well control, and reservoir simulation.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in remote locations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex technical data to non-technical stakeholders.
