Responsibilities
- Design and execute drilling plans for unconventional reservoirs including shale gas and tight oil formations
- Lead reservoir simulation studies to maximize hydrocarbon recovery and minimize environmental impact
- Collaborate with geoscientists to integrate subsurface data into drilling strategies
- Manage drilling operations from spud to completion, ensuring HSE compliance and budget adherence
- Develop wellbore designs for complex horizontal and multi-lateral wells
- Analyze production data to recommend artificial lift and enhanced recovery methods
- Mentor junior engineers and foster continuous improvement in drilling efficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of upstream oil and gas experience with horizontal drilling operations
- Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (e.g., PETREL, Eclipse) and drilling design tools
- Strong understanding of pressure control systems and well intervention techniques
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Experience with drilling optimization in Permian or Eagle Ford basins
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in remote locations
- Excellent problem-solving skills for operational challenges in extreme environments
