Responsibilities
- Lead the conception, research, production, and editing of compelling multimedia content (video, audio, text, photography) for various digital platforms.
- Conduct in-depth investigative reporting, interviews, and field assignments, often under tight deadlines, ensuring accuracy and journalistic integrity.
- Develop and pitch original story ideas that align with Veritas Media Group's editorial strategy and resonate with target audiences.
- Utilize advanced video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) and audio production tools to craft engaging visual and auditory narratives.
- Collaborate closely with producers, editors, graphic designers, and social media teams to optimize content for maximum reach and engagement.
- Mentor and provide constructive feedback to junior journalists and content creators, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in multimedia storytelling and digital journalism.
- Represent Veritas Media Group at public events, conferences, and interviews as needed, upholding the company's reputation for journalistic excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in multimedia journalism, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse content across platforms.
- Demonstrable expertise in operating professional-grade cameras (DSLR/mirrorless), audio recording equipment, and lighting setups.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere Pro, Audition, and Photoshop; After Effects experience is a plus.
- Exceptional research, interviewing, writing, and storytelling skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Solid understanding of journalistic ethics, media law, and fact-checking best practices.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-pressure environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of SEO principles, analytics, and social media best practices for content distribution and audience engagement.
- Ability to travel occasionally for assignments and work flexible hours as required by news cycles.
