Responsibilities
- Lead high-impact, long-form investigative projects from conception to publication.
- Cultivate and maintain a robust network of confidential sources within government and private sectors.
- Analyze complex datasets and public records to identify patterns and corruption.
- Collaborate with multimedia producers to translate investigative findings into compelling visual content.
- Adhere to the highest standards of journalistic ethics, accuracy, and legal rigor.
- Mentor junior reporters and assist in editorial brainstorming sessions.
- Prepare comprehensive briefing notes for legal and editorial review boards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in investigative reporting or high-level beat coverage.
- Proven track record of publishing award-winning, high-impact investigative content.
- Expertise in FOIA requests, data-driven journalism, and digital research techniques.
- Exceptional narrative writing skills with a distinct, authoritative voice.
- Strong knowledge of media law, libel, and ethical reporting standards.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Flourish) is a significant plus.
