Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive merchandising strategies that align with company goals and market trends.
- Analyze sales data, inventory turnover, and profitability metrics to optimize product assortment and stock levels.
- Lead the buying process, including vendor negotiations, product selection, and range planning.
- Collaborate with marketing and design teams to ensure product launches are aligned with promotional calendars.
- Monitor market conditions and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Manage and mentor a team of junior merchandisers, providing guidance and fostering professional development.
- Ensure all visual merchandising standards are met in-store and online to drive conversion rates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in retail merchandising or buying, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into actionable business insights.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and merchandising software (e.g., JDA, Blue Yonder).
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of current retail trends, consumer behavior, and fashion cycles.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines during peak seasons.
